Meaning & symbolism
Amazonite is the green to blue-green variety of microcline, a potassium feldspar. Its colour comes from traces of lead and structural water activated by natural radiation, and its white streaks are albite lamellae (perthite). It forms mainly in granite pegmatites. The name refers to the Amazon River, where it has never been found. Main sources are Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, Ethiopia and Pikes Peak, Colorado, where it grows with smoky quartz.

Wear it as a pendant near the throat, carry it before a difficult conversation, or keep it on a desk where words matter. These are traditional uses, not medical advice.
Cleansing & care
Avoid knocks: it has two directions of cleavage and can chip. Keep it away from strong heat and long direct sun, which can fade the colour. Rinse briefly in lukewarm water, dry at once, no long soaks or salt water. Do not use it in drinking elixirs, as it contains lead.
Questions & answers
Its colour can fade with strong heat and, more slowly, with long direct sun. Store it away from sunny windowsills.
