Meaning & symbolism
Fluorite is the collector's delight, a stone that grows in soft ribbons of purple, green, blue and clear, sometimes all in a single piece. Under ultraviolet light many specimens glow, and the very word "fluorescence" was named after it.
Traditionally it is the stone of focus and mental clarity, reached for to clear confusion, organise scattered thoughts and bring a calm, orderly mind to study or decisions. Different colours are associated with different gifts: purple for intuition, green for the heart, blue for calm communication.
Associated with the third-eye chakra, fluorite is a favourite of students and anyone facing a complicated decision.

Cleansing & care
Fluorite is soft (only 4 on the Mohs scale) and scratches and cleaves easily, so handle and store it carefully, away from harder stones. Its colour can fade in prolonged sunlight.
Avoid water soaks, which can damage the surface over time. Cleanse and charge it gently with moonlight, sound or a selenite slab.
